With the establishment of the so called "Institute for Atmospheric and Environmental Research", the University of Wuppertal pursues the objective to create a specialized competence center for atmospheric and environmental research, which initially includes research in the fields of atmospheric chemistry and atmospheric physics, while at the same time carrying out tasks in the promotion of young scientists in the research area of the institute.
Tasks
In order to achieve its goals, several tasks are tackled by the institute:
- Implementation of research in the fields of atmospheric chemistry, atmospheric physics, simulation experiments, modelling,
development of new, innovative measurement methods and analysis algorithms. The institute is part of the Interdisciplinary Center “Atmosphere and Environment”. - Promotion of young scientists in the research fields covered by the institute.
